How To Create An Approval Workflow in Microsoft Power Automate
This tutorial will show you how to create an approval workflow in Microsoft Power Automate using the Approvals connector. The Approvals connector makes facilitating approvals in Microsoft 365 easy. Note that the Approvals connector does not feature any triggers, only actions and so this tutorial will use a SharePoint Online List for the trigger. Specifically, when an item is created in a SharePoint Online list, the workflow will trigger. This tutorial will also show you how to add dynamic content from a SharePoint Online list into the approval request.
What is the Difference Between "Create an Approval" & "Start and Wait for an Approval"?
There are two are actions in the Approvals app that can be used to initiate approvals:
The Create an Approval action will initiate the approval request but will not wait for the approval to complete. It will immediately move to the next action in the flow.
The Start and Wait for an Approval action will initiate the approval request but will not move to the next action in the flow until the approval is completed.
